An introductory post

On the advice of my one true love Harriet, I've moved my blogging operations over here from Tumblr, which has become possibly the most ridiculous, spite-filled website on the Internet. Except perhaps for forums frequented by car enthusiasts (I bear scars).

So, I'm Edmund. I live in Somerset, and I'm a student. Reasonably interesting aspects of my personality include relative fluency in Japanese, a deep-seated love of cars (I drive a VW, in case you care), playing the trumpet, piano, percussion and being a singer. I have a passion for the Manic Street Preachers bordering on obsession, although I've seen Rick Astley live a greater number of times. Politically, you could call me a free-market libertarian.

I used to be a non-stop runner and cyclist, but a massive bike crash on Alpe d'Huez in 2010 put a stop to that with a shattered spine from which I'm still recovering two years later. Now I derive my sport from gym work, and motorsport (saloon car mostly) when I have funding (cue cries of 'THAT'S NOT A SPORT!')

I like to think of myself as a chatty and pleasant person, so never be afraid to get in touch.
